The Second Vatican Council notes "the anointing of the sick is not a sacrament for those only at the point of death. Hence, as soon as one of the faithful begins to be in danger from sickness or old age the appropriate time to receive this sacrament has arrived." 

Sacrament of the Sick is administered by the priests upon request.  

Also, during the course of the year communal celebrations occur at nursing homes, senior residences and at the Feast of St. Rocco.
