Confirmation catechesis begins in the ninth grade and continues through the tenth grade culminating with the celebration of the sacrament in the fall of the eleventh grade. Beginning in 1999, we have had two Confirmation Masses in which the sacrament is celebrated. Previously, all were confirmed in one Mass, but with the numbers being so high (over 200 Confirmandi annually), two groups have substantially reduce the number of those in attendance at each Mass thereby enhancing the spirit of liturgy and worship.

Candidates for confirmation are encouraged in their life of prayer by attending a retreat at the parish; participation in a project of Christian service of their choice is another aspect of the program designed to challenge the candidate to model Jesus’ life of sacrificial service.
