First Reconciliation
We are using the book and video clips from Dynamic Catholic called “Blessed”. You can find all of the clips on the Dynamic Catholic website - www.dynamiccatholic.com/blessed.html. Families may want to check them out or if your child misses a class – you may want to watch the clip together.
This year we are going to offer a two-hour retreat for both the Sacrament of Reconciliation (January) and the Sacrament of the Eucharist (just after April Vacation) for every child and at least one parent/guardian. We are hoping and praying that each of these retreats will be a great way for families to experience the joys and love of the Sacraments and ease the anxiety for everyone.
The Sacrament of Reconciliation Retreats will be on:
- Saturday, January 10 from 10:00am-12:00pm
- Sunday, January 11 from 12:30-2:30pm
They will both be held in Sacred Heart Hall (lower church). We ask that every family sign up for one retreat by December 1.
RECONCILIATION RETREAT SIGN UP
The celebration of the Sacrament of Reconciliation will be on Monday, January 12 starting with a prayer experience with Fr. Bob at 4:00pm. We hope to have several priests with us on that Monday. We invite and encourage parents and family members to also take advantage to celebrating the Sacrament. I am very happy to send you some information about the Sacrament that will include the Examination of Conscience. I truly believe that you are a great witness to your child when you also celebrate the Sacrament. We will have outlines for the family members. Many young people and adults find the pamphlet helpful and others also find it is helpful to bring it to bring it in with you during the Sacrament.
If Monday, January 12 is too much for you and your second-grade child – we can find another time that works out for your family with for Fr. Bob/Fr. John. You are always welcome to call us at 781-528-1450 or email Jim Flanagan at jflanagan@stmarysfranklin.org.
