Our Hearts Were Burning With Us

“…to teach as Jesus did means calling and equipping all Christians of every age and stage of life to fulfill their baptismal call to holiness in family, Church, and society—their mission to evangelize and transform the world into a more caring and just society”.

In 1999, the United States Bishops released a pastoral letter entitled Our Hearts Were Burning Within Us (OHWBWU). This letter addressed the benefits of and need for Adult Faith Formation in our parishes. OHWBWU lists six dimensions of our Catholic faith which are “fundamental aspect[s] of Christian life and foundational content area[s] for adult faith formation” (90). Here are the six dimensions along with online resources which can assist the seeker in her/his development as a Catholic Christian, as a disciple with a living, explicit, and fruitful Christian faith.
